A Note To The Frothing Angry Masses
Imagine my surprise this morning, when I woke up to find no less than ten “hate mail messages” from enraged, apoplectic Chargers fans, announcing their plans to have Ed Hochuli “stripped of his title” (which is, incidentally, Mr. NFL Football 2008), fired, lamenting and driven before his women, you know, the standard and fairly normal reaction to an NFL regular season loss.
Hey. I understand your anger. It’s not fun to watch your favorite team lose a game because the reviewing equipment isn’t working or because an obvious call is missed. But you know, contrary to the wide reaching rumors, Ed Hochuli is just a man. A human man. Who makes mistakes. In fact, he’s a human man who makes mistakes AND apologizes for them. So what else would you have the man do?
Oh, and one more thing: I. AM NOT. ED. HOCHULI. I have no association with Mr. H. I can not pass your threats on to him. I don’t know him, and in all my life, only have exchanged emails with him. So in the future, when you’re angry with your game’s officiating, stop on by the NFL website, and see if maybe you could email them. I just sell t-shirts. And I don’t think I can take the stress.
